The Mauser AK47 Omega combines the best of two worlds – the operation and feel of the original combined with the cost-effective 22 lb caliber.
Hardly any weapon is as widespread worldwide as the “Kalashnikov”. The name Kalashnikov stands for weapons that are robust, reliable, easy to maintain and, above all, inexpensive. It is not for nothing that Russian assault rifles and submachine guns such as the AK-47, which was the starting point for a whole family of automatic infantry weapons, are almost legendary. The AK 74, developed by Michael Kalashnikov, is the successor to the AK47. As the name suggests, it was introduced in 1974 and used as the standard rifle in the Soviet Army. The Russian Army and other armed forces still use the AK74 today.
The Mauser brand embodies German engineering and stands for outstanding quality, precision and reliability. The AK47 Omega is also “Made in Germany”. In terms of weight, size and operation, the AK47 Omega is as close as possible to the original AK 47. GSG, the manufacturer of the small-caliber rifle, chooses the materials very carefully. The housing is made of robust and lightweight die-cast zinc, while the pistol grip, buttstock and handguard are made of high-strength plastic. The built-in barrel of the small-caliber rifle is a forged precision barrel and is 45cm long. A muzzle brake in birdcage style is screwed onto the front of the barrel. The magazine release can be used on both sides, giving you a weapon for left-handed and right-handed people. The buttstock is a folding stock and offers you a grooved butt cap for a secure fit. The fore-end of the small-caliber repeating rifle, on the other hand, offers you a 22mm Picatinny rail for bipods, for example, as well as M-LOK openings for M LOK accessories.
As with the original AK-47, a rear sight and front sight are attached for aiming. The front sight is protected by an open front sight tunnel, and the rear sight can be easily adjusted in height. There is also a Picatinny rail on the top of the 22 lfb small-caliber repeating rifle, on which you can attach another sight, such as a red dot, if required. The safety regulator typical of the Kalashnikov rifle is attached to the right of the weapon and is made of sheet steel. For safe transport, you can attach a carrying strap to the sling mount on the handguard and buttstock. The included magazine holds 24 rounds. You can also purchase a 110-round drum magazine.
The AK47 small-caliber self-loading rifle fires 22-caliber rimfire cartridges. Small-caliber weapons are perfect for shooting at the shooting range and plinking, because the cost of ammunition is not exorbitant.
To ensure smooth and safe operation of the KK rifle, it is necessary to use KK ammunition (small caliber ammunition) with an extra strong load. Such 22lr ammunition is called “HV”, which stands for High Velocity. The higher speed of the 22 lr HV ammunition ensures that the bullet has greater kinetic energy, which leads to improved ballistic performance. This has a positive effect on the precision, trajectory and penetration power of the bullet.
The Mauser AK47 Omega is a semi-automatic weapon that does not have a positive determination notice from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and is therefore not approved for sport shooters. Hunters, on the other hand, can purchase it with a valid annual hunting license.
